Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 26 - Approximately 2,700 Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) officials, an equivalent to nearly 53% of the CNRP members, has joined Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) by 26th November, which was the extended deadline for the former CNRP members to join CPP.

CNRP members who joined CPP include lawmakers, deputy chiefs, councils and reserved candidates.

PM Hun Sen has announced that former CNRP candidates, who lost the 4th Mandate of Commune Council Elections, can preserve these positions if they join the CPP by November 26.

Prime Minister Hun Sen added that if CNRP members join CPP after November 26, they will not receive any position.
