Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 2 - Kong Vibol, Director General of General Department of Taxation, said that by 2017, about 520,000 vehicles are obliged to pay tax on private transportation.

So far, only 482,038 vehicles completed the payment; while about 40,000 vehicles have yet to pay.

"Some vehicles taxpayers have not yet fulfilled their obligations but the revenue is increasing compared to 2016", stated Kong Vibol.

He added that the General Department of Taxation decided November 30 as the deadline of tax payments every year. Late payment will result in fine.

The General Department of Taxation will cooperate with the competent authorities, especially the traffic police, to inspect the tax collection practice in January 2018 following the deadline of the tax payments.
