Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 7 - Vong Pheakdey, a lawyer for the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), filed a complaint against Sam Rainsy to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Thursday morning for the involvement in inciting national armed forces to topple the ruling government.

“Sam Rainsy had urged the Cambodian national armed forces to turn against the government, and his incitement early December was seen as an offense to both the commander-in-chief and the national armed forces, which stimulated instability in the country,” stated in the reported file.

On Dec. 6, 2017, the commander-in-chief of the RCAF, Pol Saroeun, together with other commanders said they had prepared documents and planned to file lawsuits to the court.

Pol Saroeun added that the national armed forces did not ask for any compensation, but they wanted Sam Raisny to be punished by the law.
