Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 13 - Prime Minister Hun Sen said that Cambodian 2018 election process still continues and the result does not need international recognition.

The remark was made during his meeting with about 15,133 workers from 13 factories in Phnom Penh on Wednesday morning.

According to the premier, the National Election Committe (NEC) has sufficient national budget for senate election and parliamentary elections in 2018, and now China is a strong supporting force for Cambodia's elections, besides Japan and Korea.

The announcement came after the EU and the U.S suspended their support for the NEC, which was made after Cambodian opposition party was dissolved on November 16, 2017.

The premier also emphasized that the absence of the dissolved party and the suspension of 118 opposition party leaders from political activities will not affect the election process.
