Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 15 – Meas Virith, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD), urged all parents to send their child, as drug victims, to have a treatment at Drug Rehabilitation Center. So far, there are 291 centers throughout the country.

His statement was made on Friday morning during a handover ceremony of Thailand’s Assistance for the Thailand-Cambodia Project on Strengthening and Enhancing Treatment and Rehabilitation Cooperation.

The ceremony was attended by Kao Khon Dara, deputy chairman of NACD, Prajin Juntong, Thai Deputy Prime Minister, and other relevant officials at Ministry of Interior.

"The Royal Thai Government has provided $1,150,000 to Cambodia for the construction of a Drug Rehabilitation Center. It is important for the NACD to pursue more effective drug rehabilitation”, stated Meas Virith.

He added that the treatment and rehabilitation of drug victims is free of charge for the public.
