Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 18 – Prime Minister Hun Sen and leaders of Association of Higher Education Institutions (AHEI) have discussed intensively on the education in Cambodia, including the challenges and the improvement of the quality of education in Cambodia, according to Eang Sophalleth, Personal Secretary to PM Hun Sen.

PM Hun Sen decided to allow higher education institutions to be established without depositing finance in response to the request by management and members of AHEI.

The decision was made during a meeting between PM Hun Sen and leaders of AHEI Monday morning at the Peace Palace.

Regarding the evaluation of the education level, the premier asked the Ministry's inspection team to ensure that the assessment was accurate and comprehensive and he also advised to have meetings and evaluations by the relevant ministries for professional evaluation.

AHEI has asked the premier to allow health university students to complete their studies before transferring to the Ministry of Health.

The proposal came after PM Hun Sen in 2016 decided that health university students should be under the supervision of the Ministry of Health.

Prime Minister decided that only the new students are under the supervision of the Ministry of Health.
