Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 19 - The first ever 18-kilometer automated guideway transit (AGT) system running on six lines in the central and outskirt of Phnom Penh will be constructed.

AGT aims to reduce traffic congestion and development of Cambodia's future socio-economy.

AGT system will run along Charles de Gaulle Boulevard, Monireth Boulevard, Street 217, Veng Sreng Road to the airport, and National Road 4 and Kob Srov Road.

The unprecedented project was presented on Tuesday at Phnom Penh Municipal Hall in a technical meeting with Japan International Cooperation (JICA) team led by Sugano Yuichi, Chief Representative of JICA, and Khoung Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh.
