Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 25 - At the 16th Annual Meeting of the Ottawa Convention in Austria, the member countries has set a goal of clearing mines by 2025.

The vision is consistent with the Royal Government of Cambodia's policy to clear land mines by 2025, according to Senior Minister Serei Kosal, First Vice President of Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA).

Senior Minister Serei Kosal said that 163 member expressed strong interest in Cambodia’s achievement of the removal of chemical weapons and unexploded ordinance, as well as the 2025 strategic plan of mine clearance of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Senior Minister led a delegation of National Authority for Chemical Weapons, CMAA and the National Center for Peacekeeping Forces to attend the 16th Summit of the Ottawa Convention from Dec. 19 to Dec. 21, 2017.
