Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 28 – Royal Government of Cambodia recently decided to establish a working group to conduct a review on the constitution to prepare for the amendment so that the Prime Minister can appoint a secretary of state through a royal decree.

The working group comprises of Ang Vong Vathana, Minister of Justice, accompanied by three Vice President and eight members, according to the Government's decision, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng in early December.

Kert Rith, Secretary of State of Ministry of Justice, said on Thursday morning that a feasibility study to examine the constitutional amendment is not to maximize the power of Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The secretary supported that amendment is a structural reform to decrease the compositions of the government in response to the criticism that the government has a bigger head than body.

Kert Rith added that the research to prepare for amendments has no purposes besides the interests of the nation and its people.
