Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 29 - Phnom Penh Municipal Court, on Friday, ordered Sam Rainsy, former president of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), to compensate 4 Billion Riels ($1,000,000) to the plaintiff, Prime Minister Hun Sen, and pay 10 million Riels ($2,500) to the state.

The decision was made following the hearing this morning, chaired by Judge Heng Sokna and Prosecutor Sieng Sok.

Sam Rainsy was charged for defamation. He accused the premier of paying $1 million to Thy Sovantha, former youth activist for CNRP, to rebel against CNRP.
