Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 29 - Hun Manet, lieutenant general in the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, on Friday, said that Cambodia has ended decades of civil war under the win-win policy of Prime Minister Hun Sen.

This announcement was made during his participation at the newly-built military training center in Stung Treng province with 3,850 recruited soldiers and 500 trainees.

"It has been 19 years since we ended the civil war under PM Hun Sen’s win-win policy that successfully ended the civil war in Cambodia on December 29, 1998 and completely destroyed the Khmer Rouge regime and brought peace and development to all sectors in Cambodia”, said Hun Manet.

"You are now part of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces. You have been trained to become a fully equipped, capable, and strong army to serve and defend our nation”, stated the lieutenant general.

He also asked the soldiers to continue defending the nation and protecting the legitimate government that our leaders have sacrificed thousands of lives to bring peace for the whole country.
