Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 2 - Lim Chea Vutha, CEO of Fresh News, on Tuesday conducted an with Phnom Penh Governor Khoung Sreng on the celebration of the 39th Anniversary of Victory Day January 7.

The three questions include: why this year the celebration is bigger than ever? How meaningful the day is to Cambodian people; can everyone forget the Victory Day?

"Cambodians are more aware of January 7 more than ever, and they understand that Jan. 7 is their second birthday," Khoung Sreng answered.

Phnom Penh Governor stated that January 7 is an important historical day for all Cambodians, especially those who have been liberated from Pol Pot's Regime.

On January 7, 1979, a movement led by Samdech Chea Sim, Samdech Heng Samrin and Prime Minister Hun Sen rescued Cambodians from the Khmer Rouge Genocidal Regime, which began in 1975 and sucessfully overthrow Pol Pot on 7 January 1979, bringing peace and progressive development.

He answered that Khmer people can not forget the 7th of January; without January 7, there would not be peace and life.
