Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 11 – Chinese Premier Li Keqiang announced that China will continue more cooperation and assist the development to the countries along Mekong River to establish a community with one future.

The statement was made when he co-chaired the 2nd Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen in Phnom Penh on January 10, 2018.

“In the global context, to maintain regional peace and stability, China has responsibility in respecting our promise. Between China and five countries along Mekong River, we drink water from the same rivers which is Lancang and Mekong”, stated Premier Li.

He continued, “There have always been conflicts among many countries in the world, between those in the upstream and downstream. For us, we want to tackle the issues and maximize the interests of all countries along Mekong River in several sectors such as economics and culture to establish a community with one future”.

China and five countries along Mekong River will work complementarily and support each other to reach the win-win development, added Premier Li.
