Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 11 – Sam Rainsy, former president of the dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party, is required to appear at the court on 9:00 A.M on Thursday to clarify the case charged of inciting Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) to topple the ruling government, according to the court’s order released on Dec. 7, 2017.

The complaint was filed by Vong Pheakdey, RCAF’s lawyer.

Sam Rainsy urged the RCAF to turn against the government through his Facebook on Dec. 5, 2017 offended the forces and invoked instability in the country, according to the complaint.

Sam Rainsy, in self-exile abroad since last year, dares not return home, fearing arrest if he does so as he has faced several lawsuits and conviction on defamation, incitement, and disinformation.
