Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 14 – Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that the Royal Government of Cambodia will initiate another Kantha Bopha Foundation in Cambodia to continue funding the operation of Kantha Bopha Children's Hospital.

The announcement was made during a meeting with nearly 5,000 people of Independent Democracy of Informal Economy Association at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center.

Prime Minister Hun Sen said that Kantha Bopha Hospital will not collapse due to the absence of Dr. Beat Richner.

“To Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital, I would like to inform that the Government must continue support with a greater contribution to the hospital. We have Kantha Bopha Foundation in Switzerland, and we'll create another one; I will be the chair of the foundation to mobilize more resources for the hospital”, stated the premier.

By Nov. 2, 2017, Kantha Bopha Hospital has provided health care services for children with diseases and pregnant women for 25 years and the hospital has treated 16.8 million children and pregnant women, spending $632 million, according to the hospital’s press release.
