Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 14 – At least 50 former members of Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) announced not to join National Rescue Movement initiated by Sam Rainsy, according to an announcement dated on January 13, 2018.

Among those former members of CNRP, there are 3 lawmakers including Suon Rida, Ngor Kimcheang and Pin Ratana. Besides, most of them are former members of CNRP abroad.

Other former members of CNRP, on January 12, 2018, released an announcement to initiate “National Rescue Movement”.

The announcement stated that the movement initiates to rehabilitate democracy in Cambodia, demand to release Kem Sokha and organize the election with free and justice in Cambodia.

The movement is led by Sam Rainsay, Eng Chhai Eang, Mu Sochua and Tioulong Saumura.

Sok Eysan, Spokesman of Cambodian People Party (CPP), on January 13, 2018, said that the movement which initiated by former leaders of CNRP abroad is the rebel movement and those who join the movement are considered as perpetrator.
