Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 17 - In 2017, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFA) assisted over 900 Cambodians living in nine countries to repatriate, according to MoFA’s press release today.

The ministry assisted 986 Cambodians in nine countries, of which 288 in Thailand, 171 in Vietnam, 49 in Laos, 3 in Myanmar, 382 in Malaysia, 23 in Indonesia, 5 in Singapore, 53 in China and 12 in Japan.

In particular, nearly 1,200 Cambodian workers working in Thailand have been detained by Thai authorities every week for living and working illegally in Thailand through the Poipet International Border.
