Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 7 – Phnom Penh Municipal Court, on Wednesday, decided to sentence Vorn Yen William to 10-month imprisonment and a fine of $750 and ordered to compensate to the plaintiffs from $500 to $5,800 each.

Vorn Yen William, Khmer-American, 47, was allegedly charged of fraud cases in 2015. The suspect was arrested on June 28, 2017 in a coffee shop in Phnom Penh.

During the trial on January 23, 2018, he rejected the court’s indictments, according to the court’s official on Wednesday.

The 10 victims submitted the lawsuits, claiming that the suspect cheated them from $3,000 to $6,000 each by promising to bring them to work in Australia.
