Mondulkiri (FN), Feb. 10 – A fire that occurred in Sen Monorom Market in Mondulkiri at around 2 am on Feb. 10 damaged 220 houses and shops in the entire market, killing two people and injuring three others, according to Mondulkiri provincial police chief Ouk Samnang on Saturday.

He added that the size of the damage was estimated to cost up to millions of dollars.

A vendor said that his stall was damaged, costing about $40,000.

Police forces have used five firefighting cars more than 200 times.

Meanwhile, the governor of Mondulkiri Province Svay Sam Eang expressed regret and once again appealed to residents throughout the province to be cautious during the dry season to avoid this social accident.
