Phnom Penh (FN), March 1 - The Interior Ministry and Labor Ministry gave 30 days to over 100,000 foreign employers and foreign workers in Cambodia to obtain a work permit at the Labor Ministry, said Sok Phal, Head of the Interior Ministry’s Immigration Department, in an interview with media on Thursday.

The action taken will bring at least $20 million annually to the state income, according to Sok Phal.

Last week, both ministries issued an order to strictly scrutiny foreign workers in Cambodia based on the immigration and labor laws.

Currently, there are 3,969 enterprises in Cambodia with 32,512 foreign workers, including 93 nationalities, and that 1,389 foreigners have been fined for not possessing work permits.
