Phnom Penh (FN), March 7 – Cheng Qingtao, Vice President of the China Chamber of International Chamber of Commerce (CCOIC), urged Cambodia to seize opportunities by welcoming Chinese investors.

Speaking at Cambodia-China Business and Investment Forum 2018 in Phnom Penh on Wednesday, Cheng forecasted that in 15 years, China will import products worth of $24,000 billion, $2,000 billion of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and $2,000 billion of oversea investment that will bring greater development opportunities for the world and Cambodia.

Vice President of CCOIC said that China will continue the process of economic globalization; open up the advanced economies; bring about greater public interests to the international community; especially adhere to the principles of join dialogues, development, and sharing; implement Mekong-Lancang cooperation; and promote “One Belt, One Road” initiative to achieve common prosperity.

China is the largest source of capital for Cambodia with a total of US$5.3 billion and a steady increase in banking, industry, and infrastructure sectors. Meanwhile, the trade volume of the two countries is about US$ 5 billion.
