Phnom Penh (FN), March 8 - Ruling party lawmaker Chea Vandeth, a Member of Parliament for Takeo Constituency, reacted to a lie fabricated by self-exiled Sam Rainsy on Thursday.

Recently, the convict Sam Rainsy said in the social media that, for the planned visit by Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Sen to Australia, the premier has threatened the students so that they will gather to welcome him, and if they fail to do so, he will cease all their scholarships and they can no longer pursue their studies.

Chea Vandeth clarified that (1) the students mostly pay their tuition fees by themselves or by their parents, (2) the Royal Government does not pay for their costs in a direct manner, and (3) the Royal Government of Cambodia has been making efforts to negotiate with foreign governments in order to seek scholarships for Cambodian students to study abroad.

Chea Vandeth would like to send a message to the convict Sam Rainsy that his lie could mislead the Cambodian people who are not aware of the truth.
