Kratie (FN), March 13 - Kratie Provincial Court Prosecutor Keo Socheat said on Tuesday that eight people detained in a clash with authority in Snoul District were released.

"Eight of them have been released; however, they are still under the court's control", stated Keo Socheat.

The violent clash between citizens and local authorities on March 8, 2018 at a rubber plantation in Kratie province’s Snuol district came after the villagers have blocked three sites of National Road 76, causing an hour of traffic jam.

Some media outlets as well as online social networks said that at least six villagers were shot dead and more than 40 others were injured in the clash. However, this false imformation was immediately dismissed by the authorities and the court.

Kratie governor confirmed that only 9 were injured, 2 were citizens, 7 were polices.
