Phnom Penh (FN), March 17 - General Pol Saroeun, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), on Saturday morning, announced that China is a strong defender in protecting independence, national sovereignty and development of Cambodia.

The announcement was made at the “Golden Dragon” Military Exercise between Cambodia and China, which is held on March 17, 2018 in Kampong Speu province.

The military exercise is to exchange experience between the two countries' troops to celebrate the convening of the 60-year diplomatic relations between the two countries.

“China supported many aids, including material, training and finance for RCAF to build and strengthen its capacity to serve the national defense,” said General Pol Saroeun.

Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Cambodia in October 2016, which had led the two countries to sign at least 28 documents together. Meanwhile, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang also visited Cambodia in January 2018, which has signed 19 documents, which provided benefits to Cambodia.

By the end of 2017, China has expressed its support for Cambodia's legal measures to safeguard peace and development in the country.

General Pol Saroeun confirmed that these great achievements emerged from the friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
