Phnom Penh (FN), March 21 - The 13th General Border Committee (GBC) was held from 20-21 March 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand, chaired by General Prawit Wongsuwon, Defense Minister of Thailand and Cambodian Minister of Defense Tea Banh.

Minister Tea Banh met with Prawit Wongsuwon focusing on strengthening and enhancing cooperation between Cambodian-Thai armies, especially maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development along the borders of the two countries.

General Prawit Wongsuwon said that the mutual friendship between the two armies made this meeting as successful as the previous meetings, which could link existing cooperation and development to further develop and benefit the two nations.

Minister Tea Banh expressed his gratitude at seeing the progress in relations and cooperation between the two armies of both nations, which was demonstrated through the establishment of an annual meeting mechanism between the army commanders, the establishment of the border offices, the hotline connection, and the cooperation of military units.

The 13th GBC meeting also urged both sides to continue their duty to maintain peace and stability along the two borders, in accordance with the principles and measures set out in the 13th Meeting of the Association in all aspects.
