Phnom Penh (FN), March 22 - Ambassador of the European Union to Cambodia George Edgar congratulated the Royal Government of Cambodia for holding a meeting to resolve a land dispute on Thursday at Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MoLUPC).

The case of land dispute between 375 families and Koh Kong Plantation Co., Ltd. and Koh Kong Sugar Industry Co., Ltd. in Koh Kong province, was closed on Thursday after all parties agreed to accept the Royal Government of Cambodia's resolution.

"As the result, the companies and the affect families have agreed to end the dispute. According to the agreed resolution, each of 175 families accept the compensation of three hectares of land and $2,500, except those having been compensated, and each of 200 families accept the compensation of 1.5 hectares of land”, according to the press release by MoLUPC, issued on Thursday.
