Phnom Penh (FN), March 22 - Ney Sam Ol, Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the United Nations Office at Geneva released a statement in response to the joint statement read by New Zealand against Cambodia at the 37th Session of the Human Rights Council.

"Why so I argue? The impropriety of the so-called Joint Statement, made by New Zealand against Cambodia, is conducted in breach of the Council’s practices,” Cambodian ambassador wrote in the statement, dated on March 21, 2018.

According to the Ambassador, Cambodia will hold the election in July this year, so they wanted to interfere into Cambodia's internal affairs rightly before the election occur.
