Phnom Penh (FN), April 3 – Anti-Fraud Committee burned away 60 tons of counterfeited products at a landfill in Phnom Penh's Dangkao district.

The burning ceremony was held on Tuesday, presided over by Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and attended by embassies, judiciary and other relevant authorities.

Meach Sophana, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Interior and Head of the Anti-fraud Committee, said that the cosmetic products, including facial foam, shampoo, hair spray, lotion, lipstick, hair spray, cologne caused skin cancer and allergy to the users. Hence, the authorities must tighten further prevention and seek those who commit them.

He urged all relevant authorities to take immediate action following the complaints of the counterfeit goods and called on all authorities to advise people more about the products that negatively affect their health.
