GAZA, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Dozens of Palestinians arrived Friday morning in eastern Gaza Strip to prepare for the "Great March of Return" for the second week, after the first mass rally was held last Friday.

The participants burned hundreds of rubber tires along the border with Israel as part of the events. Black smoke can be seen in the air.

More participants are expected to join after Friday prayers.

Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Health Ministry in Gaza, said earlier that Tha'er Rabay'a, 30 years old, who was critically injured last Friday, had died in the hospital Friday morning of his wounds.

This brings the death toll of last week's rally to 20 Palestinians, according to the Health Ministry.

The organizers insisted that the events should last for six weeks until May 15, the 70th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba Day, the day Israel was recognized as a state.
