Phnom Penh (FN), April 19 – Turkey will send a delegation to the Kingdom to review and discuss the possibility of granting aid for demining in Cambodia in the first or second week of May.

The confirmation was made when Senior Minister Prak Sokhonn received a courtesy call on by Ms. Ayda Ünlü, the newly appointed Ambassador of Turkey to the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Ministry on Thursday.

Minister Prak Sakhonn informed the Ambassador that during the delegation's visit to Cambodia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate meetings between the delegation and other mine clearance experts.

Minister also highlighted the remarkable achievements of mine clearance sector in Cambodia. He further emphasized that landmines is currently challenging for the rural development policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

In the meantime, the Turkish government also supported Cambodia's actions and measures against the former opposition party; and considered them as Cambodia’s internal affairs in order to safeguard peace, stability, and development.
