Phnom Penh (FN), April 26 – Cambodia’s People Party spokesman Sok Eysan said that CPP welcomed the creation of the "Chhantak Khmer Party" by Kong Mony Ka, the youngest son of Kong Korm, former leader of the Sam Rainsy Party.
"CPP welcomed the creation of the new party to participate in the forthcoming election. The establishment of the new party clearly reflects the freedom of political rights in Cambodia in accordance to the constitution of Cambodia," he said.
He added that the establishment of the new political party also reflects Cambodia's lively democracy, even though the former opposition wanted to privatize Cambodia's democracy.
As one used to support former opposition, it does not mean that one has to continue supporting for the former opposition.
"Chhantak Khmer" Party was announced to be established on Wednesday, led by Kong Mony Ka.
