Singapore (FN), April 28 - The leaders of 10 ASEAN countries welcomed the Korean talk between Kim Jong-un of the North and Moon Jae-in of the South on April 27, 2018 at the 32nd ASEAN Summit in Singapore, which yielded positive results to the region and the world.

The ASEAN leaders applauded the bilateral talks for easing tensions which resulted in peaceful Korean peninsula.

“The ASEAN leaders welcomed the recent visit of the DPRK leader Kim Jong-un to China in particular, a bilateral meeting of the two Koreas yesterday, which led to a positive sign for the region and the world; leaders also announced the bilateral meeting of the President of the United States Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in the future,” Prime Minister Hun Sen wrote on Facebook page Saturday.

Yesterday was historic that the two Koreas established brotherhood, something that has never happened over the past 11 years.

The two Koreas signed joint statements, including a permanent peace agreement to be achieved in 2018.

North Korea agreed to completely eliminate nuclear weapons, while the South pledged to have more bilateral talks.
