SINGAPORE, June 11 (CGTN) -- Senior officials from the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) met on Monday to come up with a draft agreement to be presented to the leaders of the two countries in their planned summit in Singapore on Tuesday, Yonhap reported citing official sources.

US envoy Sung Kim, who serves as ambassador to the Philippines, held talks with the DPRK’s Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui at the Ritz Carlton hotel in the morning.

Kim and Choe have had several rounds of discussions at the truce village Panmunjom on the inter-Korean border that reportedly focused on summit agenda items, including denuclearization and security assurance measures.

Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump both arrived in the tropical city-state on Sunday for the historic meeting on June 12, which will be the first time leaders of the two countries have met face-to-face.
