Phnom Penh (FN), June 13 – The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) condemned the US’s Treasury Sanction on Cambodian General Hing Bun Hieng, Head of the Prime Minister Bodyguard Unit and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.

RCAF all-level military officers deeply regretted the US’s act toward the RCAF.

“The US’s act violates the law and sovereignty of Cambodia, a country that is not under the jurisdiction of the US,” RCAF wrote in the statement on Wednesday.

“The US’s decision seriously affected the dignity of RCAF which is unacceptable,” the statement added.

RCAF gravely condemned the US’s sanction and also appealed for the US to immediately stop such acts on Cambodia senior military officer without proper grounds.

The US Department of the Treasury wrote Tuesday that they sanctioned Cambodian General Hing Bun Hieng for being the leader of an entity involved in serious human rights abuse, pursuant to Executive Order 13818, which targets perpetrators of corruption and serious human rights abuse and corruption.
