PYONGYANG, June 16 (CGTN) -- Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), sent a congratulatory letter and floral basket to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on his birthday, reports KCNA.

Kim extended the warmest congratulations and greetings to Xi Jinping in his congratulatory message.

In the letter, Kim also noted Xi’s leadership in opening up the prospect of socialism with Chinese characteristics and his contribution to promoting China’s international prestige, as well as preserving global peace and security.

Kim sincerely wished Xi Jinping good health, success in his work and happiness to his family.
