BOGOTA, June 17 (Xinhua) -- The right-wing candidate, Ivan Duque, won the Colombian presidential election runoff on Sunday with nearly 54 percent votes after more than 99 percent votes counted, according to Colombia's National Electoral Council (CNE).

With 99.52 percent of the ballots counted, Duque gained 53.95 percent, or 10,340,313 votes.

This left his left-wing rival, Gustavo Petro, in second place on 41.83 percent, or 8,016,402 votes.
