Phnom Penh (FN), June 18 – The National Election Committee issued a statement on 16 June 2018 in response to the UN Special Rapporteur Rhona Smith’s statement.

"NEC expressed deep regret to UN human rights expert group especially Ms. Rhona Smith for releasing a statement dated on 15 June 2018 without any ground and for not conducting in-depth study about NEC before making judgement on NEC's Code of Conduct for Media," the NEC wrote in the statement late Saturday.
