Phnom Penh (FN), July 2 – Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Xiong Bo said that over the past 60 years, one thing that has not changed is the traditional relations between Cambodians and Chinese people. The ties are like the wine; the longer it is, the better taste it has.

His statement was made at the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-Cambodia diplomatic ties on Monday at Diamond Island Exhibition and Convention center, Phnom Penh, presided over by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and his wife, and Hu Zhengyue, Vice President of China Public Diplomacy Association.

He said that the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations clearly indicated that Prime Minister Hun Sen has put so much effort in Cambodia-China relations.

The 60 years of the struggling demonstrated that China-Cambodia relations were profound and characterized by a strong China-Cambodia strategic alliance.

Xiong Bo said that on behalf of the Chinese embassy, he welcomed and deeply thanked the presence of Prime Minister Hun Sen and his wife.

He reviewed that 60 years ago, Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China and Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk exchanged letters and jointly announced the establishment of China-Cambodia diplomatic relations, marking the opening of Cambodia-China relations.
