JAKARTA, July 3 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed in a ferry capsizal in Indonesia's South Sulawesi province on Tuesday, a rescuer said.

Ferry KM Lestari Maju carrying 139 passengers sank at 2:30 p.m. local time in the waters of Selayar as it was heading to Selayar Island, spokesman of national search and rescue office Marsudi said.

"A total of four people died in the incident so far," he told Xinhua by phone.

A search and rescue operation has been launched, said Marsudi.
