BAGHDAD, Jan 14 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan arrived Monday in Iraq's capital Baghdad on an official visit for talks with the Iraqi leaders over bilateral ties, an Iraqi official television reported.

The Jordanian King was received by Iraqi President Barham Salih at Baghdad airport and the two are expected to hold a meeting to discuss political and economic issues, state-run Iraqiya channel said.

Abdullah is also expected to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to discuss means to promote cooperation in various fields, according to local media reports.
