RIYADH, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud discussed on Tuesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin cooperation to achieve stability of oil markets, Saudi Press Agency reported.

They focused on the oil markets during a telephone call made by the Saudi king, in order to ensure the growth of the global economy.

They also reviewed the distinguished relations between the two countries and several issues of common interest.

Russia and other leading oil producers as well as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries agreed to cut their oil output by a combined 1.2-million-barrel per day starting from January in order to balance global oil markets and support prices.
