KABUL, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- An Afghan army helicopter crashed in the western Farah province on Wednesday, killing two of its pilots, the Afghan Defense Ministry said.

"An MI-35 helicopter crashed just before noon today in Porchaman district of Farah province, due to technical problems and sadly two of our brave pilots were martyred," the ministry said in a statement.

Without providing more details, the statement said the Defense Ministry expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the martyred pilots.
