SEOUL, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- South Korea reported 103 more cases of the COVID-19 as of 0:00 a.m. Friday local time compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 14,873.

The daily caseload soared above 100 in 20 days since July 25 due to a surge in small cluster infections and imported cases.
Of the new cases, 18 were imported, lifting the combined figure to 2,618.

The domestic infections grew in double digits owing to infections relevant to church services, a fast food chain and a bustling traditional Namdaemun market.

No more death was confirmed, leaving the death toll at 305. The total fatality rate stood at 2.05 percent.

A total of 46 more patients were discharged from quarantine after making full recovery, pulling up the combined number to 13,863. The total recovery rate was 93.21 percent.

Since Jan. 3, the country has tested more than 1.66 million people, among whom 1,630,079 tested negative for the virus and 20,132 are being checked.
