YANGON, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar reported 264 more new COVID-19 confirmed cases on Monday morning, according to a release from the Ministry of Health and Sports.

The newly confirmed cases brought the number of infection cases of COVID-19 in the country to 5,805 in total.

Two more COVID-19 deaths were also reported in the country on Monday morning, bringing the death toll to 94 in total, the release said.

Myanmar government Sunday imposed the stay-at-home order in all townships of Yangon region, excluding Cocokyun township due to the recent increasing number of locally transmitted cases.

According to the ministry's figures, 1,260 patients were discharged from the hospitals so far.

Myanmar reported its first two positive cases of COVID-19 on March 23.
