HANOI, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam recorded 7,531 new cases of COVID-19 infections on Sunday, including 7,525 locally transmitted and six imported, according to the country's Ministry of Health.

The new infections brought the total tally to 98,465 with 370 deaths, the ministry said.

Among the community cases, 4,555 were reported in the southern epicenter Ho Chi Minh City, 1,249 in the nearby southern Binh Duong province, and 313 in the southern Tay Ninh province.

As many as 19,342 COVID-19 patients have so far recovered, said the ministry.

Meanwhile, over 4.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered nationwide, according to the ministry.

As of Sunday, Vietnam has registered a total of 96,287 domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases, including 94,717 detected since the start of the latest outbreak in late April, the ministry said.
