Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 11 – Banteay Longvek is located on a unique triangle geography between the Tonle Sap and the Mekong River, which are the major waterways and the backbone supporting Cambodia’s economy, trade, local livelihoods, agriculture, and fisheries for hundreds of years. Therefore, Longvek’s potentials can be significantly enhanced if the important areas along the two rivers are connected as historical, cultural, and religious tourist destinations. In the post-COVID19 pandemic, the cultural corridors of Banteay Longvek have potentials for tourism development, linking together Chaktomuk of Phnom Penh, Oudong of Kandal, Banteay Longvek of Kampong Chhnang, and Basan of Kandal province.
