HÀ NỘI, 13 Jan (VNS)- Việt Nam recorded 16,725 cases of COVID-19, including 25 imported, on Thursday.

A total of 10,822 of the infections were detected in the community.

Hà Nội continued to record the highest number of infections with a record 2,968 transmissions, followed by Bình Phước Province with 726 and Bình Định Province with 709.

The national COVID tally has now reached 1,975,444, including 50 Omicron infections.
In the last seven days, Việt Nam has reported an average of more than 16,000 new transmissions daily.
The country reported 206 COVID-related deaths on Thursday, taking the death toll to 35,170 so far, accounting for 1.8 per cent of all infections.

A total 26,031 patients were given the all-clear, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,661,930.
According to the Ministry of Health, 6,006 patients nationwide are in serious condition, with 726 requiring invasive ventilation and 19 on life support.

By January 11, the country had provided over 164.48 million doses of vaccines, with more than 71.707 million people now fully inoculated, while over 14.31 million people have had the third shots.
