Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 16 – Cambodian army commander lieutenant general Hun Manet paid a courtesy call on Japanese defense minister Nobuo Kishi in Tokyo, Japan on 15 February 2022.

The two leaders pledged to strengthen cooperation between the two armies.

At the invitation of the Japanese government, lieutenant general Hun Manet led a delegation to pay a four-day visit to Japan as part of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of Japan’s contribution to the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (PKO) in Cambodia.

On 14-15 February, Manet paid a courtesy call on Japanese foreign minister Hayashi Yoshimasa, met with the commander-in-chief of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces general Yamazaki Koji, and the commander of the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Forces general Yoshida Yoshihide.
