SINGAPORE, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Singapore reported 1,336 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total tally to 1,200,976.

Of the new cases, 203 were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 1,133 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR-confirmed cases, 195 were local transmissions and eight were imported cases. Among the ART-confirmed cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 1,106 local transmissions and 27 imported cases, respectively.

A total of 220 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with six cases in intensive care units.

Two deaths were reported from COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total death toll to 1,338, the ministry said.
