BEIJING, Aug 8 (Reuters) - China's military said on Monday it is continuing drills in the seas and skies around Taiwan on Monday (Aug 8).

The Eastern Theater Command of China's People's Liberation Army said on social media Weibo that it will practise conducting anti-submarine attacks and sea raids.

The military has carried out an unprecedented set of naval and air force drills in areas near Taiwan following US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to the island.

The exercises were initially scheduled to last four days and end on Sunday, but neither Beijing nor Taipei confirmed their conclusion, though Taiwan's transport ministry said it had seen some evidence suggesting at least a partial drawdown.

Earlier on Monday, Chinese state news agency Xinhua issued a short report that did not mention the conclusion of the drills.

The exercises tested "tactics of systems warfare under information-based conditions, and honed and improved the capabilities to destroy crucial island targets with precision strikes", Xinhua quoted air force officer Zhang Zhi as saying.
